POLICE are appealing for help in reuniting items of suspected stolen jewellery with their rightful owners.
A 51-year-old woman has been charged in connection with 13 alleged thefts in the south-west of Edinburgh between 2005 and 2011.
The woman has been reported to the procurator fiscal, and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.
As a result of the investigation, a number of items of jewellery have been recovered, and have not yet been returned to their owners.
Sergeant Robert Mackenzie said: “We appreciate some items might not have been reported as stolen to the police, with people instead thinking they’ve been lost or misplaced.
“All we require in the first instance is a description of the item of jewellery and we will progress from there.”
Anyone with any information relating to these items should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131-311 3131 and ask for Balerno police station.
