A newsagent’s in Currie has been robbed.

A man entered H&S Newsagents on Lanark Road West at around 6:45 on Friday and instructed staff to put money from the till into a bag.

He then ran off in the direction of Bryce Road.

Detectives are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.

The suspect is described as male, white, early 20s, slim to medium build, 5’7” to 5’10” in height, local accent, with blue eyes, wearing a black beanie hat, black scarf, blue tracksuit top, grey nylon tracksuit bottoms and carrying a black rucksack.

Detective Sergeant Keith Mailer from Police Scotland said: “The victim was not injured during this incident, but was left very distressed.”
