Thieves broke into a branch of the Co-operative store and made off with alcohol and cigarettes early this morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the break-in, which happened on Main Street, Blackburn, at around 4.30am today.

A silver four-door saloon car was seen at the store and left along the B979 towards Hatton of Fintray.
