A SERIES of attacks on buses in Midlothian have led police to issue a safety warning.

Officers in Mayfield and Dalkeith received 14 reports of buses being targeted with stones over the past few weeks.

The attacks took place in the evenings, particularly in Musselburgh Road, Dalkeith Road and Lauder Road.

No one has been injured as a result of any of these incidents.

But Inspector Michelle Ritchie said: “Those responsible for these mindless acts are showing no consideration for the safety of the bus drivers, passengers or motorists.”
