The business editor of The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday has been found guilty of stalking a female PR consultant.

Terry Murden, 57, of Greenbank, Edinburgh, had denied that on various occasions between June 27 and October 4, 2013, he engaged in a course of conduct which caused Nicki Sturzaker fear and alarm by attending her flat uninvited, leaving unwanted gifts, repeatedly sending e-mails he knew were unwanted and swearing and uttering threats towards her.

At Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday Sheriff Donald Corke said: “It is clear you have engaged in a course of conduct that caused the complainer to suffer fear and alarm.”

Sentence was deferred until later this month.
