A MOTORBIKE thief sparked a police manhunt after crashing the vehicle at a Bonnyrigg roundabout and limping off on foot.
It is thought the crook had stolen the Honda motorcycle from a property in Edinburgh before crashing into a car at Hardengreen Roundabout, near Bonnyrigg Road at around 4.40pm on Saturday.
Witnesses reported seeing the man limp off to a nearby garden before escaping into fields.
Police are said to have launched a search operation with dog handlers in a bid to trace the man.
A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: “Officers are carrying out inquiries following an incident in which a stolen motorbike was involved in a collision with a car on Saturday at Hardengreen Roundabout.”
