THIEVES have stolen equipment worth £14,000 after a break-in at the Scottish National Institution for War Blinded’s Linburn Centre in Wilkieston.

It happened sometime between 5pm on Monday and 10am on Tuesday.

A power washer, air compressor and a green and yellow John Deere agricultural buggy were stolen from a secure garage.

The Linburn Centre provides a free service supporting individuals with previous service in the armed forces and who currently live with a visual impairment.

Anyone who can assist officers with their investigation is asked to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Anyone with information relevant to this enquiry is also asked to contact police immediately.”
