Police are appealing for witnesses following the high-value theft of several tools from a building site in Gorebridge.
The incident happened sometime between 2pm on Saturday 9th August and 7am on Monday 11th August at the development next to the A7 Newtonloan Toll.
A number of metal containers were broken into and over £3,000 worth of equipment including a drill, rip saw and nail gun were stolen.
Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.
Constable Lisa Parker said: “To remove £3,000 worth of tools from the site, there would either have to have been more than one person involved, or a vehicle used and so we would urge anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in the area over the weekend to contact police immediately.
“In addition, anyone with any further information relevant to this investigation is also asked to get in touch.”
Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
