A woman has been convicted of smashing a pint tumbler over her uncle’s head during a funeral fracas.

Stacy Roberts attacked Patrick Erskine as they and other family members mourned his brother’s death in a West Lothian pub.

A jury at Livingston Sheriff Court heard evidence that Roberts first threw drink over Mr Erskine’s wife before hitting him with the glass.

CCTV footage showing a struggle at the bar had been accidentally deleted, the jury was told.

Roberts, 32, had denied assaulting her uncle to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement in the New Royal Bar, Bathgate, on March 15 last year.

The jury found her guilty under deletion of the allegation that Mr. Erskine was permanent disfigured.

Sheriff Peter Hammond called for background reports. Roberts, of Hillhouse Avenue, Bathgate, will be sentenced later.
