HUNDREDS of people descended on Fort Kinnaird this morning for the launch of its brand new Primark store.
Taking the place of the former Toys R Us - in the centre of the retail park - the new shop seen thousands travel from far and wide to discover what bargains were on offer.
Jenny McEwan, 30, from Prestonpans was pleased she managed to find an outfit for her son.
She said: “It’s great having Primark right on our doorstep.
“It’s something we’ve never had before.
“I managed to get my little boy a lovely outfit for his Christmas party, so I’m quite happy.”
The store officially opened at 10am this morning, after Donald Wilson, the city’s Lord Provost cut the launch tape.
The first customers were piped into the store with a selection of Christmas music, and staff were on hand to help out.
