The potential closure of a dairy depot in West Lothian could cost more than 100 staff their jobs.

UK milk supplier Muller Wiseman Dairies said it was considering shutting depots in Whitburn and Keith, in Moray.

The company is holding talks with staff. It has claimed the closures are linked to changes in the requirements being made by customers.

About 116 employees work at the Whitburn factory.

Lothian Green MSP Alison Johnstone urged Muller to fully consult with its workforce.

She said: “The dairy sector has suffered from the unfair buying power of supermarkets and it seems this will play a part in Muller’s final decision.”
