masked wrestler El Technico is to return to the ring in the Lothians at an American wrestling bout next month.
The event at the Ladywood Leisure Centre in Penicuik is a homecoming for the wrestler – also known as doctor Dan Rodgers – who has just returned from a year working in Australia.
The medic fights in bright orange Lyrcra and mask, and took his nickname from the world of Mexican wrestling, where The Technician is the name given to the “goodies”, while the “baddies” are known as the Rudos.
He will be taking on England’s former champion David Paris.
The event will also see the return to the World Wide Wrestling League, or W3L, of British Wrestling veteran, the “Highlander from Hell” Drew McDonald.
Also on the bill will be women’s wrestling, with W3L Ladies Champion Nikki Storm defending her title.
Doors for the event on March 25 open at 4.30pm, with the first match starting at 5pm.
Tickets are available from the venue or www.W3Lwrestling.com, and cost £12, £10 for children or £35 for a family of four.
