The National Mining Museum in Newtongrange is looking for talented songwriters to take part in workshops.
Visitors will be taking part in songwriting, storytelling and banner-making workshops on Saturday, May 19, to create stories and songs inspired by items from the museum’s collection.
Anyone unsure if they can commit to the workshops can drop in at any point between 12pm and 4pm and help with banner-making.
Gillian Rankin, marketing and events officer, said: “Our workshops will be facilitated by Ewan McVicar, whose songs have been used in the Singing Kettle, and local storyteller Lea Taylor, who brought us the fantastic Doctor Who in the Mine workshop last year.”
To book a place call 0131-663 7519. The workshops start at 1pm and cost £10 per adult, £7.50 per child or £30 for a family of four.
