FLESH-EATING zombies have brought a touch of horror to the Edinburgh International Film Festival with new movie Life After Beth, starring American actress Aubrey Plaza.

The festival comes to a close this weekend and figures are expected to show ticket sales up on previous years.

EIFF artistic director Chris Fujiwara said reaction to this year’s programme had “gone great” and he expected audience numbers to have increased.

Last year the festival sold more than 44,000 tickets over its 12-day run – ten per cent higher than the previous year.

The EIFF is still the biggest film festival in Scotland, although the Glasgow Film Festival is catching up with 40,000 tickets sold this year.

This week has seen stars such as Elijah Wood come to the Capital for the launch of his new film.

And Gerard Depardieu is expected in town tomorrow.
