WILLOWBRAE shooting victim Mohammed Abdi died from a single gunshot wound to the chest, his death certificate says.
The 25-year-old was gunned down after a high speed chase through the city on May 26.
Details of the certificate show the cause of death as “gunshot wound of chest”.
The Muslim cleric’s son has his occupation listed as a restaurant chef’s assistant.
His father Omar, a volunteer imam at Edinburgh Central Mosque, gives his occupation as an Arabic and Somali teacher.
Police are still hunting for a gang of up to six men involved in the chase and shooting.
At the time of Abdi’s death he was facing charges relating to the supply of class A drugs.
Police are still working on the theory that his death was drugs related and that those responsible may be Somalis from England.
