Gusts of up to 70mph are expected to batter the Capital this weekend.
The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for the end of the week, with disruptions to transport expected to occur.
Meteorologists said that the westerly winds might even effect power supplies across the Lothians.
The first warning comes into effect on Friday morning, with gusts of 60-70mph expected until around midday.
Then, a second warning has been issued for Saturday between midnight and 6pm.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “This will probably be a larger system than Friday’s, and the area at risk from disruptive winds may well be larger. There remains some uncertainty in the extent of the disruptive conditions so the public should monitor the website in the coming days.”
