Balerno Community High School has been commended following a recent inspection by Education Scotland.
Inspectors found the school included pupils who are “highly confident individuals and very successful learners” and part of a “strong and vibrant community”.
Is also found there were very high levels of volunteering by both adults and young people, which had a marked impact on local residents.
Inspectors said: “There are some improvements needed, but because providers have an understanding of their strengths and areas for improvement, and communities are achieving well, we have ended the inspection process at this stage.
“We will monitor progress through our regular contact with the local authority.”
