A TALENT show is the headline act during a week of activities designed to celebrate West Lothian’s elderly community.

Older People Have Talent is running on Tuesday at Broxburn’s Strathbrock Community Centre starting at 1.30pm.

It is a key feature of West Lothian’s Older People’s Week being held from Monday to Friday.

The occasion is timed to coincide with the UN International Day of Older Persons.

West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership and Cyrenians are also holding activities during the week.

Xcite Ageing Well co-ordinator Avril Clerkson said: “The Older People Have Talent Show 2013 is a great showcase for older people in West Lothian and it demonstrates that you can be active and have fun in later years.

“We hope that people will come along and enjoy the show, but booking is essential.”

Executive councillor for health and care Anne McMillan said: “Many of the events are free and we hope that as many people as possible will get involved and discover what is available to interest them.”
