It can be a tough life for performers working away at the Edinburgh Fringe festival.

As well as trying to pull in a crowd during the biggest arts festival in the world and dealing with an endless array of hecklers convinced they belong on the stage, year after year they find themselves faced with the same bafflingly obvious questions.

Here then are just a few of the best examples:

“The 3.40 show. When does it start?”

“Can you tell me the way to the Castle?”

“It says on the ticket the midnight show doesn’t allow children. Does that include babies?”

“Do you know how to get to the Castle?”

“Who is he/she?”

“Is it funny?”

“Is this the way to the Castle?”
