EUROS Childs, former frontman of Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci, comes to Cabaret Voltaire tomorrow to promote his new album, Situation Comedy.

His eighth album, Childs, who fronted the psychedelic Welsh band from 1991 until their demise in 2004, is a keen collaborator, having released albums as Jonny with Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake in 2011, and as Cousins with former Race Horses singer Meilyr Jones in 2012.

Describing his music, Childs says, “It’s pop music with a bit of folk music thrown in, sometimes synthesizers are used, sometimes pianos or guitars. But it’s always rock n roll.”

At Cabaret Voltaire, Childs will be supported by Laura J Martin and The Wellgreen.

Martin hails from the suburbs of Liverpool with influences that ricochet between Serge Gainsbourg, Wu Tang Clan, David Bowie and Herbie Mann, while two-piece The Wellgreen play sixties-tinged psychedelia and powerpop, powered by signature two-part harmonies.

Situation Comedy is released on National Elf Records tomorrow.
