IT’S the film of the moment and once more, Waterstones West End are giving fans of JK Rowling the chance to be amongst the first to own the printed companion to Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

Tonight, Waterstones bookshop on Princes Street will celebrate the publication of the original screenplay of the major new film by opening its doors at one minute past midnight.

The bookshop will close its doors once all customers have their copy and then re-open at 8am, offering free bacon sandwiches to the first 20 fans through the door to purchase Fantastic Beasts.

The celebrations will continue with jazz and swing dancing from 1pm.

Opening in cinemas across the UK today, the Warner Bros production which premiered earlier this week stars Eddie Redmayne as the intrepid wizard Newt Scamander.

Set in 1920s New York, with a dazzling backdrop of smoke-filled jazz clubs, swing dance, champagne, glamour and bright-lights, the film reveals an entirely new era of the Wizarding World.

Scamander, a British wizard expelled from Hogwarts, finds himself on the run from the city’s New Salem Philanthropic Society, an extremist organisation determined to wipe out wizarding kind.

Ian Meek, Bookshop Manager at Waterstones West End says, “It’s always a pleasure to be able to support the book launch of a local author.

“JK Rowling and her books are loved the world over, but nowhere more so than in her home-town of Edinburgh.

“We are looking forward to welcoming fans at midnight and beyond and celebrating with them.”

All Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them launch events at Waterstones Edinburgh West End are free of charge.
