If you fancy letting your hair down on St Patrick’s Day, there are plenty of celebrations going on in Edinburgh for you to check out.

There’s a whole host of music, comedy and dance events to take a look at on Friday, so dust off your novelty hat and get partying!

St Patrick’s Festival at The Three Sisters Bar

(Thu 7pm - Sun 9pm)

This St Patrick’s Day, the Three Sisters Bar in the Cowgate will become “Edinburgh’s Little Ireland”.

There will a free fry up between 7am and 9am to fortify you for the revells ahead.

Al Fron and Ritchie Remo will be there for the countdown, and then Edele Lynch (B*Witched), Rubberbandits, Frostbit Boy and REDNEX will make it a festival to remember.

The Three Sisters are also appealing for your help to beat the Guinness World Record of 10,656 pints!

St Patrick’s Day at The Hive

(Fri 9pm - 3am)

This Edinburgh club will be fully decked out in green, white and orange for the occasion, with free glow sticks and facepainting available to all.

There will also be plenty of Guinness to go around, alongside the Shamrock cocktail and the Everybody’s Irish pitcher.

In room one, you can enjoy chart hits, while in room two there will be a mix of indie, rock and alternative tunes.

St Patrick’s Day Charity Ball at the Sheraton

(Sat 7pm - 3am)

This charity ball is one of the main annual events for Edinburgh’s Irish community (and its friends). The event has its origins in the Irish Consulate, which opened in 1998.

The ball is a black tie event, with delicious food, fantastic drinks, and above all, great company.

The raffle and auction raise money for local homelessness charities.

St Patrick’s Weekend at Waverley Mall Rooftop

(Fri 11am - 10 pm)

Malone’s is bringing St Patrick’s Day to you, with their pop up venue on the roof of Waverley Mall.

From morning til night, they will be serving Guinness to the good people of Edinburgh, and displaying all the 6 Nations action on their outdoor screens. There will also be live music and a lively atmosphere.
