THINK you can sing? Then Cadenza, one of Scotland’s top amateur mixed voice choirs, would like to hear from you.
With another successful Fringe concert under their belt, the Edinburgh choir have launched their annual recruitment drive ahead of the forthcoming concert season.
Potential recruits, seeking to discover what Cadenza is all about, should head along to St Peter’s Church, Lutton Place, on Wednesday at 7.30pm, when the choir will be holding an open rehearsal.
“We are keen to hear from good singers of all voices – soprano, alto, tenor and bass,” says Barbara Badger of Cadenza. “Singers are welcome to join us by prior arrangement at any time during the year, but the open rehearsal is an ideal opportunity to ‘try us out first’ with no strings, no commitment and no charge.”
Cadenza were founded in 1992 and now attract members from across the central belt. The choir have also been broadcast on BBC Radio 4, Radio 3 and Radio Scotland.
Badger adds, “Our musical director, Jenny Summerling, is known as a perfectionist, demanding the best from her singers. Under her direction, the choir has gone from strength to strength.”
