Jessie J has been unveiled as the latest big name to join the BBC One concert at Edinburgh Castle ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The singer will perform on Saturday 19 July just days before the opening ceremony in Glasgow.
Jessie J said: “I always have so much fun in Scotland and the crowds are always so amazing. So I can’t wait to be back again at such an iconic venue performing alongside such wonderful artists. Will definitely be one to remember… and I love a deep fried mars bar!”
Other acts already confirmed include Culture Club, who will be performing live for the first time in 15 years, Kaiser Chiefs, Smokey Robinson, Rizzle Kicks, Paloma Faith, Ella Henderson, Katherine Jenkins, Il Divo, One Republic, Alfie Boe and Pumeza. There will also be comedy interludes from Bill Bailey, who will be performing alongside the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and a special guest appearance from Fred MacAulay.
Executive Producer Guy Freeman says: “The line-up for Live at Edinburgh Castle just keeps getting better and the addition of Jessie J will add even more sparkle to the night. There is something for everyone at this concert and to see so many different musical performances at the one event, will make it really special and unique.”
Live at Edinburgh Castle will be presented by The One Show’s Alex Jones. For tickets and information, visit bbc.co.uk/edinburghcastle
