PANTO seems to start earlier every year, and although the Capital’s biggest and most spectacular panto - at The King’s, naturally - doesn’t kick off until Saturday, there’s already a chance to join in the traditional interactive banter. Oh yes there is!
In the Capital, EUTC get in first with an original offering sure to appeal to more adult panto fans - Scooby Panto And The Night of the Nutcracker in 2D.
Zoinks! Jinkies! and tellingly F*ck! (definitely not for the little ones then). It’s a month before Christmas, and the North Pole is being terrorised by a nefarious Nutcracker. Scrappy Doo has been brutally murdered, Santa is missing and Christmas is cancelled. Can Mystery Inc put their differences aside for one last mystery?
Join Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne and Velma for their greatest case yet.
Over in East Lothian there’s more family fare as the Brunton Theatre begin their mammoth run of Sleeping Beauty.
Join Princess Aurora and Prince Finlay of Fisherrow as they battle to defeat the evil Fairy Nightshade in order to live happily ever after.
Not quite a panto, but definitely one for the kids, Edinburgh’s Christmas, at St Andrew Square, presents the award-winning Fringe hit, Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs. Join Flinn as he discovers a pirate hiding in a cupboard and hold on tight as you tumble into a real life adventure.
