WHEN singer-songwriter Seth Lakeman released Word Of Mouth, his seventh album in February, it entered the UK Album chart at No 20 confirming that Lakeman has successfully steered English folk into the musical mainstream with his high-energy performances and a series of best-selling albums.
At the Queen’s Hall, Clerk Street, on Tuesday there’s a chance to experience one of those performances in person.
Word Of Mouth has been described as ‘a defining album’ for Lakeman and features the stories of the real local West Country people who inspired the album. His previous albums include Mercury-nominated Kitty Jay and the gold-selling Freedom Fields (2006), which features the song, King & Country.
On Tuesday the singer and virtuoso fiddler will unearth hidden histories and unsung everyday heroes in the company of his multi-instrumental band and special guests Zervas & Pepper.
His new single, The Wanderer will be released the day before he arrives in the Capital. To catch a glimpse of what to expect, watch the video of Lakeman performing The Wanderer at www.edinburghnews.com.
