THE Proclaimers have told how they are still King of the Road as they will play 80 gigs across the world this year.
Leith wins Craig and Charlie Reid shot to fame with Letter from America in 1987, followed up by I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).
Nearly 30 years on, and recently turned 54, they are about to rack up more miles on a world tour including Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the US.
The Proclaimers will play their only Scottish concert this year when they headline Party at the Palace at Linlithgow Loch in August.
In one of their more unusual gigs, they will open the final of the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens tournament, alongside Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff.
Craig said: “We’re doing two shows at the Hong Kong Sevens. We’re doing our own show, then we’re doing 25 minutes before the final. I think it’s Bjorn Again who are on before us, then David Hasselhoff is introducing the Proclaimers. It’s bizarre.”
