BOOK

FASCINATING MUMMIES

LIFE in ancient Egypt is currently been brought back to life at the National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street, where the acclaimed Fascinating Mummies exhibition is the star attraction until May 27.

To rekindle memories of your visit, a companion book has been published by National Museums Scotland, Fascinating Mummies - Highlights of the Exhibition.

The 64-page full colour paperback boasts an introduction to each of ancient Egypt’s dynasties, gives an intriguing insight into Egyptian attitudes towards life and death, as well as exploring the art of mummification.

With photographs of all the main exhibits, including Ankhhor, the Theban priest whose remains lie at the heart of the exhibition, this book is the ultimate souvenir of a visit to the recently refurbished museum or an equally good introduction to ancient Egypt for those yet to make it along in person.

Fascinating Mummies - Highlights of the Exhibition, published by National Museums Scotland, £5.99

Fascinating Mummies, NMS. Chambers Street, until May 27, £9, 0300-123 6789
