Edinburgh-based films are dominating this year’s Scottish Baftas with Sunshine on Leith nominated for five awards and Filth aiming for three,
Sunshine on Leith is up for Best Feature Film. with Dexter Fletcher named in the director category, while Peter Mullan, Jane Horrocks and Edinburgh’s Freya Mavor represent the Best Actor/Actress sections.
However, Sunshine faces stiff competition as best film from Irvine Welsh’s Filth, which also sees James McAvoy gunning for Best Actor and Jon S Baird nominated for Best Director.
Meanwhile city-based developer Rockstar North are tipped to take the award for Best Game with Grand Theft Auto V.
Bathgate-born David Tennant has also been nominated for Best TV Actor in The Escape Artist.
