The Widower (STV, 9pm)

MALCOLM Webster is now settled back in Scotland with his second wife Felicity and their son. He’s still plotting to murder her, and after his first scheme is thwarted, comes up with a new plan... The story then moves on another five years, and Malcolm has reinvented himself again. He’s now working as a health and safety instructor in Oban, and has set his sights on another woman, little realising that the net is closing in on him. With John Hannah, pictured below, as DS Charlie Henry.


The Mentalist (Channel 5, 9pm)

THE tea-loving hero joins a commune to investigate the curious case of a US attorney. Her body was found in Mexico, but there was no record of her crossing the border.

Meanwhile, Van Pelt and Rigsby try to convince former boss JJ LaRoche to help them discover who is hunting ex-CBI members. Starring Simon Barker as Patrick Jane (pictured above).


Masterchef (BBC One, 9pm)

THE first six hopefuls take on a new challenge as they prepare their Calling Card, a dish which represents who they are and showcases their talent. But the group are soon whittled down, and the decision lies with John and Gregg as to who will reach the quarter-final.


Ade At Sea (STV, 8.30pm)

ADRIAN Edmondson continues to explore our island nation’s harbours and ports, and this week sets sail for the Thames Estuary - once the most important trading route in the world.


Alan Carr: Chatty Man (Channel 4, 10pm)

ALAN Carr is back with a new series. And he’s starting as he means to go on with some very high profile guests. First is singer, songwriter and former X Factor judge Gary Barlow. Also taking up residence on the sofa is Ricky Gervais, who will be talking about his latest film, Muppets Most Wanted.

However, arguably the biggest, most iconic celebrity of all is Gervais’s co-star, Kermit the Frog, who is also dropping by.


The Voice UK (BBC One, 7pm)

EMMA Willis and Marvin Humes return to present the live semi-finals and reveal who is through to the live final of The Voice 2014.

Sir Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, and Ricky Wilson have coached and mentored their two remaining acts in preparation for tonight’s live semi-final. Each artist will perform one carefully selected song before performing a group number with their superstar coach for the very first time.

Tonight, the audience has total control over who will make it through to the grand final as all the artists are up for the public vote.

All eight remaining acts will also sing in a group performance and they won’t be the only musical acts on The Voice UK stage - viewers will also be treated to two musical performances by two of the biggest names in pop.

At the end of the show, Emma Willis and Marvin Humes will reveal live on air who has secured the final four places in the live final.


The Musketeers (BBC One, 9pm)

THE series reaches its thrilling climax when an unexpected rift between the Musketeers threatens to blow them apart. Athos takes a woman hostage in the square and the Musketeers are amazed to discover he is threatening none other than Milady.

Athos is furious when he finds out that d’Artagnan knows her, testing their friendship to its limits. D’Artagnan is forced to do the unthinkable and seeks Milady’s help. The Cardinal, fearful the Musketeers will prove he masterminded the attempt on the Queen’s life, compels Milady to kill them by any means.
