Animal rescue staff at Balerno are looking the owner of a budgie which was found almost in the clutches of a lurking cat.
The Scottish SPCA was called out on Sunday evening after a man spotted the green and yellow bird on the pathway between Alloa and Clackmannan.
The male budgie is now in the care of the charity’s Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Balerno, where he has been nicknamed Gary.
Inspector Louise Seddon said, “Gary has certainly had a very lucky escape.
“It’s likely Gary has escaped through an open door or window with the recent warm weather.
“Hopefully someone will recognise Gary and come forward as we’re sure he would love to go home after his adventure.”
Anyone who recognises Gary is being asked to contact the Scottish SPCA’s animal helpline on 03000 999 999.
