Acting legend Ewan McGregor has agreed to return to the role that made him a star, appearing again as Mark Renton in the long-awaited Trainspotting sequel.
The 44-year-old’s reluctance to commit following a fall-out with director Danny Boyle stalled the project for years.
But a source close to the Star Wars actor has reportedly claimed he has had a change of heart, adding: “There is a fantastic team spirit about the plan and Ewan is delighted to get on board. It’s been a long time getting to this stage.”
McGregor shot to fame in the 1996 adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s novel of the same name.
