FORMER Hearts footballer Lee Miller was set to lead his three sons on to the pitch at his current club Carlisle United today to thank them for their support after his wife died.
Miller spoke of “the saddest day of his life” after Donna, 29, passed away on Tuesday night after a battle with cancer.
He has thanked fans of clubs all over the country for the support they have given him and his children, Aaron, Lennon and Bobby. Miller, 28, who was already set to miss the remainder of the football season due to injury, will lead the boys on to the pitch at Brunton Park at half-time during their match against Exeter City “for a kickabout” and a presentation from fans.
He revealed money from fans would be given to the Teenage Cancer Trust – Royal Hospital for Sick Children at Yorkhill in Glasgow.
He said: “The number of messages have been overwhelming and it has helped us at what is a very difficult time.”
