FORMER SPL star David Bingham helped save the life of a coach who collapsed with a heart attack during a training session.
Players watched in horror as Stevie Adamson, pictured bottom, keeled over while putting Lowland League side Preston Athletic through their paces at their ground in Prestonpans, East Lothian.
Mr Bingham, 43, who used to play for Livingston, was among those who rushed to his aid. He took over the 999 call and related instructions from ambulance control staff to players who gave CPR as they waited for paramedics to arrive.
They were assisted by officials from nearby Preston Lodge Rugby Club, who arrived with a defibrillator. He was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after the incident last Thursday and is now said to be recovering well.
Mr Bingham said: “He is looking great, all things considered. He is chatting away and laughing.”
