FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a blaze at a house in Trinity Crescent in the north of the city.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service got the call at around 7.15am, and the home was described as “well alight” when they arrived.

Two fire engines and a height appliance, all from Crewe Toll Fire Station, attended.

Firefighters used one main jet, one high pressure house reel and four breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.

Starbank Road was closed in both directions, with diversions via Craighall.

The incident has now been scaled down and only one fire engine remains at the scene.

There have been no reports of casualties and the road has re-opened.
