ANGRY sports fans have lashed out after stadium chiefs refused to give refunds following Jessica Ennis-Hill’s withdrawal from a major Scottish competition.
Thousands of people had paid £5 to see the Olympic gold medallist compete in today’s event at Meadowbank Stadium.
Excitement was high as the race was to be Ennis-Hill’s first competitive race since the Olympics.
But after the heptathlete pulled out just three days before, blaming a sore ankle, stadium bosses received calls from fans demanding their money back.
Angry fans took to Twitter to condemn the sports centre, with one tweeting: “Ed leisure has already said no refunds despite it selling ‘tickets to see Jess Ennis’.”
