A GIANT tennis ball will be rolled around Edinburgh tomorrow as part of a UK tour for Sport Relief.

A 30kg David Lloyd Leisure ball will crop up at landmarks around the Capital throughout the day.

The quirky event – which will move on to Liverpool and Birmingham before heading back to London – is part of the nationwide Sport Relief campaign, which raises money for Comic Relief to help people living tough lives in the UK and across the world.

TV personality Davina McCall was among the celebrities to get involved this year – by completing a 500-mile run, swim and cycle in seven days. The fluorescent tennis ball which will visit Edinburgh tomorrow is four metres in diameter and nine metres high.

Members of the public are invited to come along to see the ball and donate money to the cause.

People who manage to photograph and tweet the ball will be in the running for a prize.
