Gingerbread model makes chefs kings of the Castle

Chefs at the Sheraton have created a very familiar gingerbread castle to give guests a festive greeting in the hotel lobby.

Visitors are doing a double-take at the lifelike Edinburgh Castle confection, which is an exact 200:1 scale model. The cake is the creation of two chefs, one of whom, 23-year-old Lewis Maclachan, said: “It’s quite fitting, because the hotel faces Edinburgh Castle. People have been blown away by how lifelike it looks.”
