A “JOG LEADER” who has helped develop exercise programmes in the Capital has received an award for his work in encouraging others to take up running.
Andrew Jeske, who works for Jog Scotland, was named Jog Leader of the Year at awards run by the organisation and Scottish Athletics.
Among the projects he has led was the Pink Ladies, training women for Cancer’s Research’s Race for Life. He was nominated by the group’s members for his dedication and commitment, one of whom said: “I have gained so much from Andrew’s leadership and sessions.”
After receiving the award at a ceremony held at the Marriot Hotel in Glasgow, Mr Jeske said: “It was a great night and the icing on the cake was obviously to win the award – which was presented by the great marathoner Mike Gratton.”
