13-year-old Evan Anderson, from Edinburgh, is chasing his dreams of pop stardom and is looking for his city to support him on CBBC show ‘Got What It Takes.’

Evan Anderson, who currently lives in the Scottish Borders near Lauder but who is originally from the Capital, applied to take part in the show as he dreams of being a popstar.

Evan is one of eight children selected out of hundreds of applicants. He is a self-taught singer-songwriter and is the only Scottish contestant on the show.

In each of the CBBC episodes, the contestants had to compete in music industry related challenges to win a place in the sing off at the end of the show.

The child who wins the most sing offs goes straight through to the final. However there are still three places in the final to be decided.

In episode nine, to be shown on Wednesday, March 2 at 4.30pm on CBBC. the competition will hot up as it goes to a public vote lasting for 24 hours.

The performances will be available to watch on the CBBC website also. The three who get the most votes will get to sing with a band, in front of a studio audience, in the live final show.

“Evan really wants the chance to sing in the final to show everyone what he can do. It would be really fantastic if everyone in his local community could support him by voting,” his mum Fiona told the Evening News. The final is on March 9.
