FIVE men have been spared jail after taking part in “disgraceful scenes” during a large-scale disturbance in a busy Glasgow train station.
Hibs fans Mark Connerton, 42, James Clark, and Paul Donoghue, both 27, and Craig Nisbet and Keith Manson, both 41, became involved in the havoc after returning from a Scottish Cup match in Ayr.
When the men got off of the train at Glasgow Central Station they brawled with fans of Rangers and Chelsea who had come to the station from a nearby bar.
They pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court to forming part of a disorderly crowd, fighting, gesticulating and challenging others to fight, on March 10 last year.
Today, each of the men were given two-year football banning orders and a community payback orders with the condition they must carry out 300 hours of unpaid work.
