Celebrated historian Sir Hew Strachan has been named as the guest speaker at the annual Combat Stress Summer Lecture.
With more than 830 veterans receiving support in Scotland, the mental health charity aims to ensure ex- servicemen and women receive the right care.
Edinburgh-born Sir Hew has written numerous works focusing on the history of the First World War and the British Army. The lecture is at Napier University’s Craiglockhart Campus on August 20.
He said: “I am honoured and delighted to have been asked by Combat Stress to be the guest speaker. This will be a fantastic opportunity to for me to share my knowledge and understanding of the past and also to reflect on the mental health problems which affect thousands of veterans today.”
