A FORMER Hibs player, an ex-banker and a PE teacher are to entertain guests at the annual St Columba’s Hospice Wit’s Dinner tomorrow.
Guests will be treated to a ‘sapphire night’ – a themed evening of fine wine and luxurious food, before the three ‘wits’ take to the stage to try to win over the audience with their anecdotes.
They include George McNeill, who played for Hibs in the 1960s before becoming a sprinter.
He later coached at Hearts and currently works at Livinston FC.
PE teacher Willie Allan will be auctioneer for the evening, while Peter Brown recently retired from banking and is an ex-football referee.
The hospice’s Louise Stirton said: “We’ve pulled out all the stops.”
