OLYMPIC hero Sir Chris Hoy is swapping pedal power for horsepower to take part in a car rally.
The Edinburgh Freeman will participate in the Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally in Aberfeldy next month.
He will join Jim McRae – who like his late son Colin was a champion driver – in the safety car during the penultimate round of the ARR Craib Scottish Rally Championship on October 5.
Jim revealed the six-time Olympic gold medallist jumped at the chance to get involved in the rally.
He said: “We’ll both have to keep our wits about us, and it will give Sir Chris another insight into our sport. He’s looking forward to it.”
