CELEBRITIES Jack Vettriano, Ian Rankin and Christopher Biggins were amongst the guests at this year’s Lunch with an Old Bag event - helping to raise funds for The Prince’s Trust.
Now in its 6th year, the charity event raises money to support disadvantaged young people across Scotland by holding a charity auction.
The event was hosted by James Thomson OBE at Prestonfield House in Edinburgh and attracted 400 guests.
Mr Thomson donated a £3,500 Gucci bag to the cause, as well as paying for the event.
400 guests bid for designer handbags, luxury holidays and an evening out with Rankin and Vettriano.
Fiona Donaldson, Chair of the organizing committee said, “In a youth-obsessed society, women over 40 are often inappropriately perceived as ‘old bags’ and being ‘over the hill’.
Disadvantaged young people are also often wrongly labeled as ‘layabouts’ who lack the motivation or care to change their lives.
“To highlight the latter, LWOB celebrates the glamour and grace of women who aren’t afraid of birthdays, and shines a light on the issues faced by young people in Scotland. We also have a lot of fun in the process.”
