A woman suffered a terrifying ordeal after a man got into her car while she was parking in Edinburgh.

The intruder, though to be in his 30’s, stuck in the city’s Herman Street in Slateford shortly after 9pm on Friday.

He fled after the woman screamed and struggled with him.

Police say they are not aware of any reason as to why he tried to enter her car and have appealed for witnesses to the incident.

The man is described of stocky build, with a round face. he was wearing dark clothing and a dark beanie hat. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101.
