A HAND-drawn Christmas card designed by Irvine Welsh is the latest addition to a set of cards created by celebrities to raise vital funds in an online auction for the MS Society.
The Trainspotting author’s sketch features alongside cards designed by David Tennant, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Frank Lampard, Lorraine Kelly, Sir Chris Hoy, Jessie Ware, Graeme McDowell and Katherine Jenkins.
The card depicts a meeting in a coffee shop, where Welsh was joined by MS Society Scotland fundraiser Dean Reilly and boxing champion Alex Arthur MBE.
Welsh said: “I’m proud to be supporting the MS Society’s Card for a Cause auction.
“I enjoyed designing the card. I hope this auction raises as much money as possible for people in the UK who are living with this unpredictable and often debilitating condition.”
The Cards for a Cause auction is live on eBay and people can bid for his design over the next week.
Money raised will go towards supporting more than 100,000 people living with Multiple Sclerosis in the UK.
Michelle Mitchell, chief executive of the MS Society, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to all the celebrities who’ve taken the time to design a card for our auction.
“They’re helping us to raise awareness of MS by creating unique designs that will be very special Christmas gifts for their fans.”
