A CHARITY football match has raised £13,200 on Sunday afternoon in memory of 15-year-old Jak Trueman, who lost his battle with a rare form of blood cancer last week.

The popular West Calder High School pupil raised more than £50,000 in a week after being told his rare form of blood cancer – known as Gammadelta T-cell lymphoma – was incurable.

More than 4000 fans attended the match at Livingston’s Almondvale stadium, which featured a star line-up including Celtic legend Frank McAvennie, Hearts goalie Neil Alexander and former Rangers players Nacho Novo and Charlie Miller.

It was hoped enough cash would be raised to set up the charity ‘Team Jak’ which will support youngsters battling cancer.
