A WOMAN charged with the murder of Jordan MacKay, who was stabbed to death in South Queensferry, has been freed.
The 43-year-old was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today, but was released by the Procurator Fiscal.
A Crown Office statement said: “The Procurator Fiscal at Edinburgh received a report concerning a 43-year-old woman, in connection with an alleged incident in South Queensferry on July 13.
“Following full and careful consideration, the accused was liberated from custody pending further enquiries and did not appear in court.”
MacKay, 20, was allegedly attacked near The Loan in South Queensferry in the early hours of Sunday and died at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary several hours later.
A man and a woman appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday charged with murder.
Jack Mallon, 46, from Winchburgh, and 36-year old Charlene Wilson from Kirkliston made brief appearances in private before Sheriff Paul Arthurson QC.
No plea or declaration was made and their cases were continued for further inquiry. Both were remanded in custody.
