A BUSINESS specialist from Edinburgh University has been handed a key role at an umbrella group for charities.
Stephen Osborne, professor of international public management, will become the vice convener at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.
He said: “I’m delighted to be able to make a contribution both to Scotland’s vibrant and important third sector and to the outstanding team at SCVO.
“For 20 years I have been researching with, for and about the sector – in Scotland, the UK and globally.
“I look forward to using this experience to help the sector through the current recession and to make a sustained contribution to the quality of life in Scotland.”
He will replace Helen Tyrell, who recently retired from the organisation.
